Went to Daniel, Fred & Julie at the Horseshoe Tavern tonight. First up was Jerry Leger who was whiney, and kind of annoying. He seemed to play FOREVER, and I got there mid-way through his set. Next up was Baby Eagle who just bored me. Their frontman is apparently in The Constantines, and I’m one of the three people in Canada who are not fans of The Constantines. I Hate Computers

My duty to the tech community must be filled, as often I find answers through our lovely friend “Google,” I figure if someone else runs into this kind of a problem they might want to search for a solution, too. Issue: Computer connects to wireless network, gets a DHCP lease, cannot access the internet. Cannot even ping local devices, with the exception of the router. Cannot telnet into router. Is able to see other computers on the network in the Finder’s sidebar through Bonjour. Cannot connect to devices. I just finished watching the first season of Six Feet Under. By “just,” I mean on Wednesday, when I wrote this blog post. The Runaways

I received a last minute invitation to see The Runaways last night. I couldn’t really turn that down. How could one resist chicks with guitars? I’m not quite sure what to make of the film. The story was sloppy, and didn’t seem to go anywhere. The timeline of the band was so compressed and it seems events were cherry picked out of nowhere without any sense of a timeline to their story1. State of Play

Britain, Britain, Britain. This weekend I watched the new Doctor Who, but I also watched a six-part BBC drama called State of Play. The show is a political drama, which takes place in London. It starts with the murder of a young black man, by a professional killer. That same morning, a young woman jumps in front of a subway train.  Her boss/lover, Steven Collins (Member of Parliament for a Manchester-area riding) hasn’t been an MP for long, but he’s making waves. Back in January, I wrote about The Doctor’s swan song. Now, three months later, he’s back again, but in a different form.
